Swami Dayananda	Maharshi Swami Dayananda Saraswati was a great visionary, social reformer and saint, above all the founding father of Arya Samaj. On his demise in 1883, a group of socially oriented people who meet to mourn his death decided to raise a memorial which should be a befitting tribute to his great ideals. Thus came into being the institution Dayananda Anglo Vedic College Trust & Management Society, registered in 1886. The society established the first institution
D.A.V. School at Lahore on 1st June 1886 with Lala Hans Raj granting a rejuvenated tide to D.A.V. movement to spread education and enlightenment.
The mantra Work is Worship has been adopted as motto of DAVians giving impetus to their unprecedented achievements. Masses responded with such forever that it gave rise to new hopes and ambulation to the visioners of D.A.V. organisation.
